Shape-Note singing this afternoon 3-6 p.m.

There's a Shape-Note aka fasola aka Sacred Harp singing today at Lutheran Church of Our Savior on Thruston Ave. (near Far Hills and Patterson) in Oakwood. Singing starts at about 3 p.m. Then we stop at about 4:30 to have a pot-luck dinner and resume a little after 5 or so.

Also if you've ever seen the movie "Cold Mountain" (which I didn't really care for-the movie that is) there is a scene in the movie where people are at the church and doing Shape-Note singing.

Anyway- if ya get a chance- come by and check it out, even if for just few minutes. :)
