Does anyone know much about the author Nicholas Sparks? Are his books any good? I'm wanting to start reading again and I noticed a new book of his at Books & Co. and was wondering what anyone thought about him.
His books are incredibly sappy. Really they're all the same, pretty much. The movies are much more bearable, I think (especially The Notebook). That said, he's incredibly popular, so what do I know, etc.
I had a feeling that most of them were sappy since he did The Notebook (which BTW, the movie was excellent).
What books do you like to read?
I've read a few his books. They are a great way to get back into reading b/c they are such easy reads. They are sappy, but good. BTW The Notebook was even better as a book, if you can believe it!
Thanks for the feedback. I can believe The Notebook was even better as a book, because the movie was so good! Sappy, yes, but I love sappy movies.
BTW, my husband owes me to see a chick flick with me. Any good ones out there right now that I can take him to?
I agree completely that The Notebook is even better as a book. The movie was really close to being completely accurate though.
My favorite Sparks' books are: The Notebook, The Rescue, Message in A Bottle (but I hear the movie is terrible compared to what the book has - I wouldn't know. I read the book and refuse to see the movie!)
Others' I've read that are good but not really faves: A Walk to Remember, A Bend in the Road, The Wedding (the sequel to The Notebook)

So, what's going on this weekend? Anyone got ideas on what to do, places to go, music to listen to?
