The head of Cartoon Network 'resigns'

If you don't know already, a publicity stunt for the popular Adult Swim show 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force' almost led to the complete shutdown of Boston. Now, the head of Cartoon Network (the home of Adult Swim) has resigned due to the scare the stunt caused.

Jim Samples, Cartoon Network executive vice president and general manager resigned Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, following a marketing stunt that caused a terrorism scare that shut down bridges and roadways in Boston and led police to call in the bomb squad. Read more

It is appalling that this man has to quit his job because some paranoid idiot over reacted. This whole publicity stunt was probably due to the impending release of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters.
If you agree that this whole fiasco was a ridiculous,
you should buy this shirt.

Ten dollars? I might have to buy one. This story is f'ing tragic though. It sounds like a great guerill amarketing tactic to me. Plus, I mean, they paid 2million and the guy still had to step down? In a way, they paid 2 million to have their movie mentioned on every newspaper and news website in the whole damn country. That sounds like a success to me.
