DVD bargains, 'The Departed', and a new look for IMDb

Distressed, as ever, to discover the Davis DVD weekly DVD bargains page hadn't been updated yet again, I took it upon myself to compile this week's DVD sales.

Also: Has everyone seen The Departed? It came out on DVD last week, and even though I have some real problems with it, I find it eminently watchable. I could seriously sit through it again and again. It's too long, but I enjoy every minute of it. It's not as well-constructed as Infernal Affairs, the movie it's based on, but I enjoy getting to know the characters better. Etc. Etc.

Finally: If anyone else hates the IMDb redesign as much as I do (and I really, really do), you can use http://former.imdb.com at least temporarily.

I thought the Departed was typical of today's movies. Funny in places, not terribly deep, predictable. But it was fun. And that's all you can expect from movies these days
